The Colour of Broken

A dark secret ...

Yolande Lawrence-Harrison was hiding a dark secret. She'd returned to her hometown of Tarrin to help her ailing grandmother in Flowers for Fleur, where she had to put her engineering career aside to learn the science of flower art.

A note ...

As Yolande fussed with the pale pink roses in the basket of her grandmother’s 1950s Schwinn Phantom Cruiser bicycle, she discovered a note. She fumed at the pitiful manners and pure arrogance of the wording, and after numerous exchanges, she became irritated by the persistent, annoying, pigheaded, obstinate human being who wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Beware ...

But when Alexander Parker walked into Flowers for Fleur, her thoughts scattered. However, she refused to inhale the alluring potion he offered. Yolande could see through his projected façade, where his perfection was a practised deceit. She wondered, if she could see through his pretence, could he see through hers? Could he see that she was damaged, hiding a past that ate away at her core allowing the darkness to engulf what was left of her inner light. Could he see that she was the colour of broken?

Run ...

Yolande wanted to run. Away from the flowers. Away from Alexander Parker. But she couldn’t. Her grandmother’s life was fading as she battled an incurable disease and she needed to decide whether to fight her past, ultimately exposing her inner demons, in order to save her grandmother and herself from the same fate.

It's the glimpse into our world of Meniere's that creates awareness for other's who are spectators to our world.

Beautiful story... on so many levels there’s a connection there for everyone - a must read

I am halfway through ... I am hooked

I didn’t want to come to work today, I wanted to stay home and read instead.

I just finished reading The Color Broken. It's amazing! From the description of Menieres disease to the second story line, I couldn't put it down. I'm ordering soon for my daughters.

I am 3/4 the way thru it and love/hate it. Love the book and all it stands for, hate the book for all of the bad/sad memories it is bringing back when my Menieres was really awful. Everyone who has or knows someone with Menieres should read this book.

Just finished reading and must say the descriptions of the way it is was right on. Even the emotional parts.

What a creative artist, author and angel you are! Keep creating and spreading your colours and stories!

I buying more copies to post to friends and family!

My mum is a retired florist, and I spent a lot of time as a kid in the back room. Your book brought all the smells back to me.

100% of book profits will be donated to research to finding a cure for Meniere's disease.
